Il tema della Summer School è di tipo progettuale ed è incentrato sul contesto di Latina – una città di fondazione degli anni’30 del Novecento – la cui struttura urbana restituisce il carattere di un progetto incompiuto nel quale è stato sperimentato lo stretto rapporto tra architettura e disegno urbano.
A differenza delle precedenti edizioni del workshop, le aree oggetto di progetto riguarderanno la prima periferia di Latina, identificando alcuni edifici del moderno attualmente inutilizzati (per motivi di obsolescenza strutturale, materiale e gestionale) con l’obiettivo di sondarne le possibili interpretazioni e reinvenzioni funzionali proponendo soluzioni spaziali, formali e architettoniche innovative e sostenibili.
PROGRAMMA
Il programma è articolato in:
– una fase istruttoria che riguarderà un primo approccio al contesto pontino a seguito del sopralluogo alle aree e manufatti oggetto di studio.
– una seconda fase di tipo seminariale con una serie di guest lectures di docenti e architetti internazionali (Renato Capozzi | Federica Visconti (Unina); J. Ignacio Linazasoro (Etsam); Ruggiero Tropeano (Accademia di Architettura Mendrisio).
– la terza fase sarà quella strettamente progettuale da svolgersi in gruppi di lavoro con i docenti, tutors e gli studenti partecipanti.
– a conclusione del workshop (nel periodo dicembre-gennaio) è prevista una mostra-dibattito con i docenti, gli studenti e i rappresentanti degli enti di governo del territorio.
L’attività si svolgerà presso la Casa dell’architettura di Latina.
COME PARTECIPARE
Alla Summer School possono partecipare docenti e studenti di tutte le università (max 10 studenti per Facoltà).
Le guest lectures sono aperte a tutti I professionisti e le persone interessate. La partecipazione consente ai professionisti iscritti agli Ordini degli Architetti, Pianificatori, Paesaggisti e Conservatori l’acquisizione di crediditi formativi di cui al DPR 137/2012 (4 per ogni lecture).
I costi di soggiorno (vitto e alloggio) e trasporto sono a carico esclusivo dei partecipanti ai quali verranno segnalate delle strutture convenzionate.
Le domande di partecipazione dovranno pervenire entro il 14 luglio 2025 tramite il modulo di iscrizione.

The theme of the Summer School is project-based and focuses on the context of Latina – a city founded in the 1930s – whose urban structure conveys the character of an unfinished project in which the close relationship between architecture and urban design was experimented.
Unlike the previous editions of the workshop, the project areas will concern the immediate outskirts of Latina, identifying a number of modern buildings that are currently unused (due to structural, material and management obsolescence) with the aim of exploring their possible interpretations and functional reinventions by proposing innovative and sustainable spatial, formal and architectural solutions.
PROGRAMME
The programme is divided into:
– an investigative phase that will involve an initial approach to the Pontine context, following the inspection of the areas and artifacts under study.
– a second seminar-type phase with a series of guest lectures by international professors and architects (Renato Capozzi | Federica Visconti (Unina); J. Ignacio Linazasoro (Etsam); Ruggiero Tropeano (Academy of Architecture Mendrisio).
– the third phase will be the strictly planning phase to be carried out in working groups with the professors, tutors and participating students.
– at the end of the workshop (in the period December-January) an exhibition/debate is planned with the professors, students and representatives of the local government bodies.
The activities will take place at the Casa dell’architettura in Latina.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Teachers and students from all universities can attend the Summer School (limited partecipation to a max 10 students per Faculty).
The guest lectures are open to all professionals and interested people. Participation allows professionals registered with the Orders of Architects, Planners, Landscapers and Conservationists to obtain training credits in conformity with Presidential Decree 137/2012 (4 for each lecture).
The costs of accommodation (food and lodging) and transportation are the sole responsibility of the participants, who will be notified of affiliated facilities.
Applications for participation must be received by July 14, 2025, via the registration form.
